Born in Cardiff in 1913, Leslie Moore was a popular and prolific painter. His subjects were many and various, and he painted with passion and with enormous enjoyment. Like most of his generation he was a romantic artist. Space and resonance were among the personal elements of his lively approach.
Leslie drew his stimulus from the world around him. As an art advisor he travelled the whole of the county of Glamorgan which, until the revision of the counties of Great Britain, was three times as large as it is now. Leslie knew the hills and valleys, the industrial and the farming areas of his county in great detail.
Leslie’s work has found regular place in the Public Galleries and Museums of Wales, and in private collections.
