Peter Prendergast RCA (1946 - 2007)
Welsh artist Peter Prendergast was one of Britain’s foremost landscape painters. Inspired by the surroundings of his Snowdonia home, his bold expressionist paintings are noted for their vigour and energy.
Peter was born in Abertridwr, south Wales in 1946, but lived and worked in North Wales for many years up to his death in 2007. Trained at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, where he was taught by Frank Auerbach, and Cardiff College of Art, he exhibited widely in Britain and abroad with increasing success. His work is included in many private and public collections. He was elected to the Royal Cambrian Academy in 1978.
