Andrew Henderson, born in London, has lived and worked in Wales for some 30 years. He has 'always painted' but began painting more seriously when he became an active member of the Lydgate Art Research Centre led inspirationally by Robin Child. In earlier years he exhibited with the New English Art Club and at the Royal West of England Academy. More recently he has held two successful solo exhibitions, shown at the Rosvik Collective in Wiltshire and exhibited regularly at the annual Royal College of Physicians show, being represented also in a number of private collections. He would like to think he is influence by the 20th Century painters - Cezanne, Ivon Hitchens, Keith Vaughan, Bomberg, de Steal and Diebenkorn in particular - and is engaged in the challenge of the many disciplines and guiding principles of art and its medium that have to come together, learned and recognised. He is intrigued by the fundamental similarities between basic science and original art - much the more difficult!
