Sarah Carvell
Born in Leicestershire in 1964, Sarah grew up in Llannefydd in North Wales and is a fluent Welsh speaker. She studied art at Wrexham and then Loughborough College of Art. Sarah lives and works in Denbighshire.
She paints in oils, thickly and vigorously applied with a palette knife, finding inspiration in the relationships between coast, sky and foreground subjects. Sarah has been inspired by De Stael and Bomberg and Welsh artists Peter Prendergast and Sir Kyffin Williams.
